Friends Make the World Go Round

It's moments like these that the wise words of Queen reign true :

Ooh you make me live
Whatever this world can give to me
It's you you're all I see
Ooo you make me live now honey
Ooo you make me live

Each night we give prayer to Our Father for blessing us with the people in our lives. It is not easy to move to a new place as a new stay at home mother (or two places in Addison's first year and a half in our case!) and hop around making the best of friends. In Glens Falls, I was fortunate to meet two lovely women who I became fast friends with and keep in touch with still. Avon has brought wonderful people into my lives that will be with me for years to come. The icing on the cake is their beautiful children who Addison will grow up with. Addison and Liv have been buddies for about two years now. They've made lasting memories and yesterday was no exception. It's no wonder we can push worries and upset aside with our faith - He is always close by as is in joyous moments such as these! With school and nannying and other things that wedge into each occupied day, we don't get to see our friends as much as we'd like so it comes as no surprise that Addison woke up at 10p last night asking where Olivia was. I asked her if she thought Livi had spent the night and she said, "I just miss her so much!" Addison cares as much for her close friends as I do for my friends. The icing on the cake? Her friends are the kids of my friends.

Sidenote: The bottom photo is of the girls making shortbread from a recipe in Cynthia Rylant's Cobble Street Cousins series. If you have a little girl in your life and care at all about the times before cell phones, computers and video games you want to read this series of books. Three cousins Rosie, Lily and Tess invite you into their vacations at Aunt Lucy's house along with their love of writing, drawing,  singing, gardening and friendly nature with those in the neighborhood. They are sweet and the activities they do bring a wave of nostalgia. The girls are also a testament to how pleasant it is when friends share, communicate and work together.

I miss comments from my readers: Share a memorable story about you and your friends!
