Addison's Guinea Pig Birthday Party and Donations to Local Backpack Programs

For her 5th birthday, Addison decided it was very important that she had a guinea pig themed birthday party. Normally Addison sifts through a few ideas throughout an entire year for her December party but this one stuck for several months. Of course, she does have quite a connection with the piggies. We've had them since she was one!

Party planning was interesting to say the least, we went for an orange and green theme (think carrots and grass, a favorite snack for these ladies), a pin the carrot on the piggie game, facepainting and a cake with the piggies picture on it. As we do each year, we chose a local cause to support and collect donations for. Guests were invited to bring school supplies and foods for the Avon Backpack Program and Stone's Closet. For details on how to contribute to these programs please contact Liz Griswold, Primary School Social Worker, coordinator of this program, at (585) 226-2455 ext.1133 or lgriswold@avoncsd.org.

In the past we've used Addison's birthday to collect donations for:

the Hurricane Sandy Effort
2012

as well as Open Door Mission in Rochester.
2013

Behind the girls are a few bins loaded with snack foods and school supplies for those students in need. They are also each carrying a backpack that we donated.
